AF Shift (new)

AF Shift

• AF Shift is camera body AF Adjustment.
• Before doing any adjustment back up the AF camera and lens data files.

 

If you have carried out automatic autofocus calibration using the AF Calibrate window, you shouldn’t need this function.  We provide AF Shift so that you can manually shift focus at the request of the owner (for example, if the camera has been converted to IR) or if for some reason an individual sensor that might need a little more tweaking.


Calculate Shift … bonus feature

Clicking on the ‘Calculate Shift’ opens our Idea Correction Calculator.  After your test shot type in your lens focal length, distance to target, target angle and focus error (from your test shot).  

The calculator the shift required will automatically appear in both the calculator window and Adjust Shift window.  Now all you have to do is click ‘Write to Camera’ to accomplish the adjustment.

Buttons

Sensor Group 1, 2, 3 –
Each button activates a different sensor group.  The orientation and type of the sensor group is also identified.


Write to Camera
This button is only enabled if you type or select an Adjust Shift.  Clicking on this button writes that shift adjustment to the camera.  AF is adjusted.


Test Shot
Use this button to take a series of test pictures through the imaging software.

 

Calculate Shift
This button opens our Ideal Correction Calculator.

 

Check Box
Displays the senor orientation.

 

Radio Buttons

• Individual sensor.  Allows you to select and adjust individual AF sensors.
• All sensors.  Allows you to select and adjust all sensors in that group.

 

 

Windows

Sensor Array / Left Window
‘Click’ on the sensor to activate it.  The line through the sensor identifies its orientation


Current Value
Displays the current value of the AF sensor.  This is a deflection value.
