Lightbox/Lens Compensation
⚠️ Compensation is a one-time setup per model. If you have already created a compensation file for this model, skip this step and go straight to CMOS Calibration.
This tab creates a file that adjusts for differences between your Light Box, Test Lens, and a good Reference Camera.
Creating the Compensation File involves six steps. The software window provides clear, step-by-step instructions! Just follow the prompts and let the software do the work. As you move through each step, the active section highlights in red, and detailed guidance appears onscreen, making the process smooth and straightforward.
And remember—you only need to create the Compensation File once per model. After that, just move straight to CMOS Calibration.
The software is designed to make even advanced procedures like CMOS adjustment simple—whether you’re in a busy shop or working solo!
Tools Required:
- Light Box
- EF to RF Lens Mount Adapter
- EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens
- A known good reference camera of the same model
⚠️ Don’t have a reference camera? Click Help, and we’ll guide you through an alternative method.
⚠️ This Plugin is NOT for mapping ‘Hot or Dead Pixels’.
CMOS Calibration – Takes About 10 Minutes
In mirrorless cameras, exposure relies entirely on CMOS Calibration—they do not use a separate light meter. While the calibration process takes six steps, our software handles most of the work for you.
Just follow the prompts in the software window. As you progress, each active section will highlight in red, and detailed instructions will appear onscreen. The process is smooth, guided, and takes about 10 minutes.
